Powder puff goyls

From now until the end of the year, we'll see truck loads of parties and events that have people donning costumes. Just this morning a friend in California asked me my opinion about two ideas they had for their Halloween party. They were thinking about going as the Desperate Housewives or as mail-order-brides (wedding dresses made from envelopes and packaging material possibly. The photo below of men dressed up as the Powerpuff girls is quite amusing. How about you, what are you wearing for your Halloween or Christmas party? You're welcome to send in photos :)

Be careful what you ask for...
May the farce be with you too.
Broken windows, bad vista.
Why would anyone get a tattoo like this?
And a couple of baby-handling instructions...
I would like to thank this site for making me smile/laugh :)

Dolled-up Angelina

Wow. Wow. Wow. Filipino artist Noel Cruz is just amazing. And his celebrity-look-alike dolls are flying off of ebay I'm sure. I wonder how much he's selling them. Should be a lot. I'm assuming they're one-of-a-kind's. Just look at Angelina Jolie's. Wow. Wow.Wow. Even if I'm not into dolls (I'm into Angelina though), it would great to have one, wouldn't it. No, not play with it. Just having one... Wow.
Some more of Noel's dolls here.
Wow.

umobile

I think this service launched in July. I read about it and was able to get an invite code then a week later got my umobile sim. That was fast! So I unearthed an old cel to put the sim into and tried to call my globe number. It connected but my Globe phone couldn't identify the number. Ooh, some people might take advantage of this to play pranks on their friends! Good thing, sim-holders only get P100 worth of load every month for the first six months. Good deal, huh? And you can earn more credits once the ads start coming in. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too annoying. Click the title to go to umobile's website. Once there, you'll find more information about this service.

"...an exclusive mobile community for 15-35 year olds..." Check.

"Nationwide coverage" via PLDT/Smart. They should just fix the interconnectivity with Globe and Sun soon.

"Earn rewards with every ad you see" This is forthcoming...

So if you have an extra cel, try to get an invite code so you can also a umobile sim. But last I heard they are no longer giving the free P100 load for six months to the new members.

Here's my sim package.
Opening it up...
And the sim.

International sexbomb girls?

From China! This one's just amazing. Stuff you could do with a score of female limbs... From Russia! This one's not so amazing. And not as many female limbs. Similar concept?

Pon and Zi

Jeff Thomas is an incredible young artist! I've just come across his site and art and I had to promote it here at my lowly site immediately! The words and the art are both touching. This one I'd like to dedicate to my doodiebear... Aww. If you like his art, you can save it to your computer- just follow the rules, ok. Head on to his main site (he also has MySpace and deviantART) at http://www.azuzephre.net or click the title of this entry. And to clarify, the yellow one is Pon, the blue one is Zi.

New Year Win

So I was in Cebu when mom called and said that I had a bunch of mail at home in Manila. She asked if she could open them because they could contain something important. When she mentioned that I received something from the Coca-Cola Foundation, I told her I wasn't expecting anything from Coca-Cola and that she could open it. It was then when she read to me that I had won a stuffed collectible Polar Bear for submitting my new year's resolution that lander on their top ten. Wow! I forgot I had even joined that internet contest. Mosey on over to cokebarkada.com and you'll see their list. I'm picking up my prize at their Mandaue, Cebu plant tomorrow. As for my new year's resolution... yep, I think I'm handling it ok so far. :)

Suddenly, it's magic!

Last Dec. 5, as part of their '12 Days of Christmas' promotion, the morning radio show, Good Times With Mo, gave away a laptop to the listener who would be able to guess the place that they would call. Somewhere out there. Where in the World is Carmen Santiago? So whoever they called gave some clues, and the DJ's did too. I just got out of the shower when I heard DJ Mo said anyone can use the internet and Google the clues. And so I booted up my computer and searched for the keywords that were mentioned - Peele Street and West Island. Another clue was the time difference between the place they called and Manila - 13 hours. And so when I got the place which was my guess, someone had already called the station. The guy's name was JB. And when asked what his guess was, he said Vancouver in Canada. Incorrect. I dialed and lucky me, I got through the line! Ordinarily, it would be extremely difficult to get through. I was surprised that after one ring, DJ Mo was on the other end asking me if I had a guess. They asked me my name first and I gave JB too and they were a little amazed that another JB got through to call. And then that's when I gave my answer which was Montreal, Canada.I called December 5, Wednesday, and went to the station the following day. Too bad, Mo forgot to bring the LENOVO LAPTOP I WOOOONNNN!!!! (Imagine Oprah shouting and her eyes popping out). Yes, my answer was correct, and a couple of callers were pretty bitter about my winning. Here's Mohan, Joseph, and Miguel inside the DJ's booth. And here's a shot of the LENOVO LAPTOP I WOONNNN!!!! I came back that afternoon to pick it up. I also won a Magnolia Foods gift basket with ham and cheese and milk in it. It wasn't a spectacular model. It had Vista Basic for the O/S but only 512MB of memory. Anyway, still grateful and thankful, and I'm sorry I couldn't express more excitement and jumpiness over winning the prize unlike some of the girls who screamed and shouted and burst at least one blood vessel when they won a big prize. It's just that I'm milder mannered.Again, thank you Magic 89.9 and Mohan Gumatay (Mo) and Joseph Javier (Mojo Jojo) for the chance and for the prize. And thank you to that show's sponsors. Hmm, what else? Amazing that I won! I've never won anything this big before. So mom's using the laptop for when she does her training seminars. And I'm using my old laptop. Maybe I'll win something else again. Just have to listen regularly. You should too.

It's been a magical year, truly.

Top of the world wide web

Funny how after only 3 votes this week, this blog is #1 at the Pinoy-Blogs site. It's a good thing they refresh the count weekly. I quickly captured a snapshot because this may never happen again. I know porn and download sites are more popular. But if you somehow do like this blog, scroll down to the lower left where you will see a couple of buttons- one for Pinoy-Blogs and another for Pinoy Topsites then click on one or both and vote for this blog. Thank you!

To love, with love

Spreading love one message at a time, this site has a sweet concept- to collect love messages from all over the world. You might just get a tip or lesson or three from the posts that you would read there. And of course, you can contribute your own message to your significant other, or even a crush, or very close friend, to the site. Here's the site description from blog author Mauro from Portugal:
1 Million Love Messages it’s a place to share our best loving feelings with the world. This Blog is made - almost all - by readers. In this project I receive and publish Love Messages sent by people from all around the world. It’s where you can share what you feel for someone special in your life: you’re boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, sun, daughter, mother, father… Or where you can simply share a Love Thought with the world. It’s a Blog about love in our life… love in the world.
Share away!

Fun cow

As its description describes, you can have lots of fun through this blog as it compiles loads of fancy "generator" sites and software.

With the Simpsons Movie showing this week, the blog features The Simpsonizer (which unfortunately didn't work when I tried it a while ago) and a Simpsons Avatar Generator.

So if you're ever in need of a cool, custom graphic for your own webpage, blog, or even office presentation, the Generator Blog is one helpful portal for you.

Here's something I tried... a horoscope!

Thrilling Prison Break

Oh. My. Guard! I wonder who thought of this? Very funny! What a way to "discipline" inmates. And they have another video on YouTube where 900+ inmates of the same Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center perform a somewhat synchronized algorithm dance or march (It's the first time I've heard of it). Anyway, it's still amazing, amusing, and very interesting. I also wonder if any prisoner from this detention center has ever tried to escape the prison and what their reasons were and if it including having to do something like what you see in the video above.

Real Age

For anyone who might be a little conscious of how old they look or feel, you might want to go to this site where they might be able to raise your hopes some by telling you your calendar age could not necessarily be your "real" age.The good thing about it is that this site tells you what you may already know about what you should be doing and what you shouldn't be doing to take better care of yourself. So if you don't have a doctor yet whom you've been helping to become a millionaire, you could try this FREE "consultation".

Of course if you've been treating yourself like sh*t, you could expect to be "really" older than how old you are right now.

Little Britain

These two gentlemen, Matt Lucas and David Walliams, truly are amazing. And amusing. Very amusing. Especially the first season of their BBC comedy series, Little Britain. And now, we have got to see if the third season is better than the second.
These two play all the main characters of this absurdly outrageous comedy. Or should it be outrageously absurd? Anyway, I like. And the more notable characters are: Vicky Pollard who runs her mouth like nothing you've heard. There's Daffyd Thomas who keeps me wondering if he's really gay. He's more homophobic and weirdly in denial for other people's homosexuality. And the duo of poor Andy, who believes Lou is a cripple and can't do anything, and spaced-out-looking, wheelchair-bound(?) Lou. Most of their sketches involve Andy turning around and not seeing Lou running off to dive into a pool, climb a tree, or even jump off a plane with a parachute on (Lou lands on his wheelchair!).Here's the series' wikipedia page.

My Siemens

Back when there was still a telecoms company called Piltel, I acquired my first mobile phone. I think it was the kind that was not able to send text messages yet. People had pagers, paging companies, and the booming (and soon to bust) page-operators industry for that. That first mobile phone of mine was so big that it filled a pant pocket and could probably kill a small animal if you hit the latter on the head hard enough with the former. I held out as long as I could and didn't buy a new mobile phone even as texting put the Philippines on the world map as the text-capital of the world and the two largest mobile phone companies here are hitting their 7-million subscribers mark. When I finally succumbed, I went out to shop for a novice's model.
After a while, I gave my dad that phone and bought my first Siemens model. I was hooked. To me it was pretty and pretty durable and had the features I wanted on a phone.
Then came the SL45 that played mp3's stored in a multimedia card. I passed my older phone to my mom and was very happy with my new phone.
2001-2005
Alas, Siemens phones may be durable but not theft-proof. My mom lost the older phone model so when she travelled to the US, I had her buy another Siemens phone there. I used it here for a month (to test) then gave it to her as a present.
2003-present
Then, as soon as it hit Manila in January of 2004, I purchased the latest and, note the keypad arrangement, freakiest Siemens mobile phone anyone has ever seen up to that point. It still is a great phone, but since last year, it has died on me several times already. Miraculously, it would get revived again (with all the messages and contacts and settings erased) but after three years, it's served its time. I'm not going to bury it just yet and even if I buy a new phone, I'm still going to use my SX1 until it no longer works.
2004 - present
Shopping for a new phone is tougher now, especially since I don't think I'll be purchasing a Siemens model anymore because the Siemens mobile unit was bought by Taiwan-based Benq late 2005 and although the new SL91 model looks exciting enough, the other mobile phone companies are churning out better and better models. Benq-Siemens is falling way behind now with little hope of recovery.
The SL91 - will it come out at all?

Happy Valentine's!

Ok, so how I read it- it's "Googe." Google usually changes its search page graphic to match the occasion; and since today is Valentine's, they had some chocolate and a cherry (?) and a heart shape in there. But is the cherry stem supposed to be part of the "L" in Google? What do you think? Happy V-day to everyone- with a partner or without.

Til Death Do Us Part

A pair of human skeletons lie in an eternal embrace at an Neolithic archaeological dig site near Mantova, Italy, in this photo released February 6, 2007. Archaeologists in northern Italy believe the couple was buried 5,000-6,000 years ago, their arms still wrapped around each other in a hug that has lasted millennia. REUTERS/Enrico Pajello/Handout (ITALY).

Aw. I wonder what they died from. And if anyone nowadays would even consider dying alongside their beloved just so they could prove how much they loved each other. Theirs would certainly be a very interesting story. Reminds me of the broadway musical AIDA. It'll be Valentine's Day again very soon...

Warning: Blind dates may lead you to suicide

Chinese teen kills self when blind date turns ugly
Agence France-Presse Report

BEIJING -- A 17-year-old boy in northeastern China was so disappointed with the looks of a woman he met over the Internet that he hanged himself after seeing her face-to-face, state media reported Friday.

The unnamed teenager first contacted the woman -- known by her chat moniker "Qunjiaofeiyang", or "Flying Skirt" -- using the popular Chinese online messaging software QQ, Xinhua news agency said.

The girl described herself as a beautiful 19-year-old and the pair chatted on the Web for weeks before arranging a December 26 rendezvous in the nearby city of Mudanjiang, in far northeastern Heilongjiang province.

The boy arrived to discover the woman far less attractive than advertised and 10 years older than him, Xinhua said.

The boy immediately returned home, lost his appetite, and four days later hanged himself from a tree.
